Reverend Afi Dobbins
Reverend Afi Dobbins, known to the congregation as “Pastor Afi,” is a member of the Wisconsin Conference United Methodist Church. She graduated with her Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary which is one of the oldest and well known United Methodist seminaries in the country. Since 2010, Pastor Afi has served many several churches in the greater Madison and Milwaukee Areas with a focus on some of her passions and experiences in ministry center around: social justice, youth and young adults, community building, prison ministry, teaching diversity with compassion, Interfaith collaboration and worship leading. Some of her most recent endeavors include, directing Rising Sun Camp (for children with an incarcerated parent), co-leading a book study on Michele Alexander’s, “The New Jim Crow,” and presenting a training on diversity for the United Methodist Church, WI Conference Camp staff.
She is the proud mother of three children, Sulaiman Joseph (21 years old), Najihah Joseph (20yrs old), and Aqil Joseph (17 yrs old). The family moved to wisconsin in 2009 and are new residents of Milwaukee.
